Finding High PR Blogs To Comment On The Easy Way
By Marika on Mar 16, 2010 in Blog Tips, Reviews
I keep seeing people asking how to find those cool high PR blogs that allow comments on. One way to do is is by using Scrapebox. This is a cool nifty gadget that allows you to scrape the internet for blogs just like that. However not everybody has Scrapebox so what is the next best thing to do - which is also free?
Well the way I do it most of the times (when I don’t feel like Scrapeboxing) is by following the trail of another commented. Yeah I see the rolled eyes already but trust me it’s one of the best ways that actually work. Most of the times I start out by simply finding the regular way on Google some Wordpress blogs to comment on my niche (or one of my niches). Once I find a blog that approves comments right away, I start scanning the list of commenters before me. And I always find a gem or two.
I open a second tab in Firefox and open the website of one of those commenters. Several times it’s junk (and I ignore those) but many times I find sites and blogs with PR4 and more. I follow the comments trails of these guys. But how do I find their trail? Well I use Yahoo Site Explorer or Backlinkswatch to check on their backlinks, and interestingly most of these guys have high PR blog comments as their backlinks. Not so much article writing, not much forum profiling, but mostly 3 thinks: blog commenting on high PR blogs, free or bought links from directories as well as articles posted on their own network of blogs or maybe other networks such as Linkvana or UAW or similar.
They keep saying that Google discontinues these kinds of blog commenting backlinks, but the proof is each and every time in front of me. All those guys with lots of Angela style backlinks and a few Ezinearticles here and there have max PR1 or 2 on their sites and most of them sell stuff that I wouldn’t. But folks that are really serious about their business, start at another level, a level which I’ve just started tapping into and I started to see the difference.
So next time you’re not sure if blog commenting works, try it out. It works and I’ve just given you a free way of getting to high PR blogs that approve most of the times the comments right away. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it.
Btw, just to check for proof, check out Angela’s website, particularly her About page, the one that is a PR4 site. Do you think she got it there with forum profiles? Just check where her over 1000 backlinks are coming from: except for the various IM forums (warrior, digital point, etc), most are from blog commenting to high PR blogs. Same with her Goarticles page. Nuff said.

Thanks for the tips.
I’ve never used Angelas backlinks. I do backlinking slowly like you too. Somebody recommended using Comment Kahuna to make things easier. Any which tools we use, I find that thoughtful and helpful comments are still the best way to go.

Yes, that’s exactly what I do too. And try to always comment on related blogs. If you have a website or blog about diet, don’t put comments on a site about wine bottles. Specially since I use Scrapebox I find fast lots of related blogs to export to Excel and then take my time and post valuable comments on them. They approve them over 90% from what I’ve seen. Much better than bullying your way in with thousands of crappy comments and hoping that something sticks.

This is something that I’ll certainly have my outsourcers read and implement in their comments and link building campaigns. Thanks!

Great post! I’ve been looking into investing in Scrapebox, solely for finding a larger quantity of relevant blogs much quickly, but the time being, simply performing a search in the Big G, or using “alerts” is the best way to find relevant blogs to post on.
I like to reverse engineer the websites of my competitors and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, blog commenting DOES WORK and it works well.
Also, is one of the best ways to get inbound links from different IPs and also that mix of no-follow and do-follow that Google is looking for.

I am looking for the highest keyword in google and see where it came from their backlinks. and I am very surprised that they could get high rankings in google just by a blog comment

Maybe you should consider adding additional videos or charts to your weblog posts to make the visitors more entertained? I mean I just read through the entire post and it has been really great but since I’m more of a visual learner, some more vids and charts would help a lot. Nevertheless, the topic here is really worth pondering about. Thanks again.
Appreciate your insight even if it’s spun and posted with Scrapebox.

So Scrapebox is the culprit for all those generic “I love your blog” comments I gt slammed with each day, huh? Well thank God for Akismet. I mean I don’t mind providing backlinks but for heaven’s sake people write a relevant human sounding comment, not something my toaster would say to my oven.

Yes, unfortunately it is. You can use Scrapebox just like any other tool like Senuke or others, the right way or the wrong way. Don’t forget a tool is just a tool, it’s not bad or evil. It’s the way the people put it to use counts. I use it only for finding high PR blogs to MANUALLY comment on, and the blogs are mostly within the niches I’m targeting. You can use it with any hat color you want, it’s up to you. Sadly more people like black instead of white these days…

Thanks for this post - there seem to be so many contradictory opinions on the merits of obtaining links through blog comment posts.
As was suggested, I guess the best thing to do is to look at your rivals backlinks and see what’s among there.
If they are using blogposts, then you could presume that it works in your niche?
Or is that too simplistic?

I thank you for sharing these useful information, I totally agree with you about the explanation on your blog, you explain a surprisingly clear way to try DoFollow blog by linking with many bloggers and create a link to easily access and share information, provide search engine backlinks. Also, you can add the blog commenters. You must create a mailbox for storing important data and all suggestions to improve over his blog. This is also a way to make your blog more and more professional and will get many visitors daily.
