Social bookmarking - instant feedback that it does work
By Marika on Mar 25, 2009 in Blog Tips
I’ve posted to one of my other personal blogs on something completely different, and social bookmarked it using Socialmarker, a half-automated social bookmarking service that I regularly use to bookmark many of my posts, either niche related, or simply personal articles. Much to my surprise, only about 5 minutes after bookmarking the post, I saw the first few leads trickling slowly in to that very post. The latest one was from Stumbleupon. It was a nice feeling to have instant gratification that social bookmarking does work!

Of course, you need to write something that people are interested about. It can be from the most popular topics to something very obscure that still have readership. My topic was on out of body experiences, one of my ‘by side’ hobbies. By chance, this topic has a relatively highly readership rate, so no wonder my post caught the attention of folks interested in the subject.
Also important when you social bookmark your posts to these places is to select the category that your post goes to carefully, so you catch the right readers. And of course, never bookmark your main site. Always bookmark single articles, blog posts, etc.
