Whatever you do, don’t do this

Article marketing is an essential tool in our internet marketing business, as without it it’s really tough getting backlinks, getting traffic, repeat visitors to our site, and ultimately getting sales.

Now people keep saying they don’t know how to write, and that might be true, there is a big difference in writing styles between any 2 people. However if you speak English fluently, then you know how to write. All you need is some proper grammar, a bit of sentence structure and sometimes a bit of humor, or adding your own personal voice to the mix, and you have an article ready to be posted at Ezinearticles, or other article directories, or your blogs, etc.

I’ve started writing articles early on while learning internet marketing, since one of the first things that was drilled into us, IM newbies, is ‘learn bum marketing, it’s free and it gives you a good basis for later’. Which is true.

Somewhere along the line I realized that I actually enjoy writing blog posts, articles, and I found my own voice as well. The words are easily flowing between my fingers on the keyboard and at some point, the article is done. Sometimes I don’t even notice where the time has gone, but there it is the article, all done.

Now why am I saying this? Well, I am one of the people who like writing, but not everybody does, and that’s ok.
But - to put it bluntly - for crying out loud, whatever you do, do not write like this guy below, I cringed at every single word I read and I didn’t even manage to read it fully. Do not destroy the English language with your words, have some respect for it.
I won’t even post a link to that article, as he doesn’t deserve a backlink from me, but you can always copy the link from here and paste it in the browser to see what I’m talking about. It’s worth a laugh…or a cry…

Like somebody I spoke with so eloquently put it ‘Amazing. I’ve never seen the word “grease” used in quite that way!’

If you can’t write, then outsource your article (heck you can even outsource it to me, I’m a freelancer at Elance and I know what it takes to write a good article), but do not post crap like that on your blog. Not only nobody will read it, but noone will ever return to your site either. And what’s the point of having yet another dead blog in the vastness of the internet maze, just to occupy some additional void space, doing none of us a favor…
