More Reasons To Leave The Corporate World Behind (Or Not Go There In The First Place)

If you’re working in a company and you’re thinking of going solo, there are countless reasons why you should do so. Some I’ve already discussed in various posts before (as a way of self-healing and expunging my nightmares of the corporate world), and others, such as what I’m about to show you, are things that I come across during my countless hours of aimless online strolling.

I haven’t talked about it here, and I guess I’ve neglected my blog recently, but I have a good reason: I’m learning copywriting. This is something entirely new to me and I really need to focus. It is new but also exciting. I didn’t think I would, but I love it! (and I’m also scared of it, especially since my native language is NOT English).

But I digress. I started following a particular copywriter’s blog who is an advocate of ‘working for yourself instead of wasting your life at the corporate HQs’ that simply IS hilarious (and also educational), and at some point I came across this post (one of Ash’s older posts).

As I was reading it, I got flashbacks of very uncomfortable images that are part of my past. With every line I was reading, I was nodding heavier and heavier ‘yes’ on the universal truths that she was pointing out about the corporate ‘drone’ world, so that at the end I could do nothing else but ‘take action’ (this is the ultimate goal of copywriters, to make the ‘prospect’ take action). I had to share her post with you, especially if you’re still slugging away at a 9-5 (poor you).

Beware, she IS rather liberal in her choice of words and profanities – but that makes her so much more adorable.

  2. Wonderful though if thinking about it. Working at home and can see our children grow is definitely ideal.
