Secrets to getting your first Adsense check
By Marika on Sep 26, 2009 in Making money
I’ve received a few emails after my post on getting my first Adsense check from people asking me how I did it, what is the real secret. They are still sitting, after several months, on $15-$25 from Adsense and can’t seem to move upwards from there.
Trust me, I’ve been there, done that and it really took me many tries of different things to get there. But now I’m $10 short of getting my second check and that in less than 2 months from my first payment. Which means a nice $50 income from Adsense per month only after implementing a few small things. And the way I see it, the more I work at it, the more my Adsense earnings will increase.
One of the main things I mentioned in my previous post I did was adhering strictly to John XFactor’s Adsense course , and I mean really adhering to it. Following it step by step and not leaving out anything. Sometimes you have the feeling that ‘oh this is something too boring, I’ll move onto the next thing, I’m sure that is enough’, but trust me, it isn’t. John is getting currently $300 from Adsense per day, which makes him a nice monthly income of around $9000, and he didn’t make that by leaving out various steps. If you get his course, read it once, read it twice and then start implementing it. One extra thing he is giving at the end of the course is a 7 days step by step set of instructions to really get you going. What you do the first day, then the second day, etc. If you haven’t finished the second day’s material, then the third day you continue with it and start the next step day 4. It’s no problem as long as you stick to the course!
Another thing I’m doing is really learning lots about keyword research. I’ve learned so much from XFactor’s course, it’s pretty much everything I need to know to run profitable Adsense sites. And it shows with my Adsense income. I have so much fun sitting in front of my Micro Niche Finder, canvasing the niche areas for really good keywords that are also MONEYMAKERS. Doesn’t matter if a keyword has an estimated CPC of $10 if it’s not a money making one, if people don’t actually click on it to purchase.
And finally, I’ve discovered a great tool to make your websites fast, easy, without knowing any html, and without having to learn Wordpress. I’m talking about XsitePro. Now if I love Micro Niche Finder for keyword research, I love XsitePro for setting up websites for us internet marketeers. The software is just amazing. I can add Adsense to my site with the click of a button. I can add any other affiliate codes just the same. I can make RSS feeds, Google sitemaps just by going through a few clicks by clicking on ‘Next’. And the templates are also really great and easy to use and customize. I’ve never used XSitePro before and it took me around 30 minutes to really get used to it. I used to preach about the values of Wordpress, now I’m like 50-50, lol. Love them both! Just check out the many features XSitePro has and then tell me it’s not worth using it. Particularly that it produces ADSENSE OPTIMIZED websites.
So basically that’s what I did since August when I started my Adsense earnings increase:
- Bought John Xfactor’s Adsense course
- I already had Micro Niche Finder from before, so was no need to buy it. I could use it right away. Btw if you have Market Samurai, that is also great
- Bought XSitePro and started setting up my first site the 3rd day after I bought John’s Adsense course.
- Followed through John’s guide step by step, not missing out on anything (how to get backlinks the fastest and easiest way without spending all your free time on doing it, and how to get to top Google positions in a heartbeat, etc)
- Once I did it with one site and I saw results, I started working on my second one. After my third site, I got my first Adsense check. Now I’m starting my 7th site (I have 6 online, but 5 with Adsense so far only), and I’m getting in October my second check from Google.
- Rinse and repeat.
Now don’t get me wrong, earning with Adsense doesn’t mean that you will quit your job in 2 months. That is just plain crap if anyone tells you that. It is for the long haul, and if you start now, it will take you around 6 months to 1 year to get there. But you will.
Just to clarify something. Currently Adsense is my lowest money maker because until now I haven’t really focused on it. I am mostly earning through freelancing (at Elance and other places) and website flipping. I don’t like affiliate marketing, so I’m not focusing on it much. But in the long run I am counting on Adsense becoming a major part of my income.
With freelancing and website flipping I am already working part time at my current job (yep just quit 2 weeks ago). Next year I plan on going full time working for myself, that’s my major immediate goal.
So basically that’s it really. Yes, I know, you will say that there are things you need to buy. But think about them, they are investments. My second month’s check is already covering my XSitePro purchase, and that feels great! And yes, there are various other ways of making money with Adsense, but that’s what is currently working for me, so I’m sticking with it.
So go out there and start working on your sites. You can make money online with Adsense, I’ve just proven it to myself, it can be done, and you can do it too!

Hi, Marika
I really enjoyed reading this post. I’m a fellow blogger from TNB. I am looking into the Microniche Finder, and may also consider this book that you speak about. Thanks for the input, and congratulations on decreasing your job hours.

Hi Kim,
Glad to have you here, thanks for your comment!
Micro Niche Finder is truly a godsent when it comes to keyword research. It finds those untapped niches with just a few keystrokes, it’s amazing.
Btw, speaking of the Adsense course (the book you mentioned in your comment), John, the owner just started his own forum for the buyers of his course. You think I can stay away? Nop, not me, lol.

I have done a lot research on adsense and what ever you have explained is in line with that. Article writing service is another good option to get some good traffic and hence more revenue.
