Getting shortly my first Amazon affiliate check

First of all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone, hope you had many great gifts for Christmas :)

I’m quite excited as I started to see some sales lately from Amazon, which hasn’t happened before, at least not to this extent. All my previous sales used to be random and one or two at best in a month. Amazon has also a minimum of $100 threshhold for sending out the check, and just as I was talking about my Adsense earnings, that I would never see a check from Google - ever, so was I also thinking about Amazon - a lost cause.

Up till now. I’ve realized however that the Xfactor’s Adsense course is quite a multilayered plan of action. It not only works for Adsense (although it gears completely to it) but it can be successfully used for Amazon sales as well. Not so much for digital downloads such as ebooks or software, those products need a different type of presell though. But for Amazon the course is perfect!!

If you’re like me before, wondering when you’ll ever get that darn first Amazon check, I seriously urge you to give Xfactor’s course a shot. I would never recommend it if it didn’t bring me results, but alas it did.

Here is a breakdown taken from my Amazon affiliate account of my earnings, hope it is enlightening. Now I know there will be those people who are making massive money from Amazon and they’ll laugh at my meager funds, but think that I haven’t earned so far a dime from Amazon for a whole year, I’ve only started increasing my sales since I’m setting up Xfactor style sites and learning lots in the process how to tweak this and that to work with the Amazon products optimally. And as my December sales show, the growth is exponential and it will increase much more.

Q4 2008 (when I first set up my first Amazon affiliate) - $0
Q1 2009 - $0
Q2 2009 - $1.20
Q3 2009 - $5.50 (this is when I started with site flipping and setting up blogs with Amazon affiliates added to them)
Q4 2009 - $147.11 with  October $7.24, November $48.06 and December $91.81

I was wondering whether the December sales have something to do with Christmas, and while they might, it’s not a strong point as my niche sites have nothing in terms of gifts, presents, and things that people usually buy each other for Christmas. They are more on the side of utility items (filters, pipes, etc), things that need to be purchased no matter what day or season of the year.

I have also received recently my latest Adsense check with almost $200 (which I still need to deposit). Btw, my Adsense earnings would be much higher by now, but I have two customers who are buying Xfactor sites from me on a monthly basis, so every month I start again the whole process as soon as I bring some sites up to a level to sell.

It’s really fun to see my Adsense and Amazon sales increasing with a minimal effort from my part. Now don’t get me wrong, there is lots of work involved, but once you learn the basics, the rest is mostly easy stuff. Once you get Xsitepro to set up your sites, after the second or third one your developing time will go down to a fraction of what it would otherwise be if you had to do a Wordpress blog, for example. With a first unique article written, I am now able to set up a niche site in about 30 minutes or so, with my rss feed setup and submitted to the major rss feed directories, with the sitemap submitted and with the analytics and webmaster tools installed and in place.

Oh and if you give Xfactor’s course a try, you can find me often at his forum. Thankfully he changed the entrance fee from a monthly based to a measly $27 or so, which makes it a no brainer for me. Between the tips I picked up there and the many questions the users who are dealing with the same are asking all the time, I’m set for a constant learning.

  2. Congratulations on your first check! I am still working on my first one, I only have about $40 accumulated so far in my account. Your December sales probably do have something to do with Christmas because even if people don’t buy the products you’re advertising you get commission if they buy something else after going through your link. So they click your link for pipes or something but then they see some gift ideas and start clicking on those too. At least that’s what happened with my experience - only a handful of people actually bought the items I was advertising and the rest bought totally different things.

  3. Thanks Lorita :)

Todd you are also right here. It’s such fun to see what interesting things people actually order through my links. I’ve even found once a great niche while browsing through the items purchased. (I can never pass up in searching for good niches when I check out various Amazon products). I only wish Amazon had a higher affiliate payout, but oh well…

  4. This is a slightly old post I know, but I thought I’d chime in. I’ve never had a check from Amazon! Their commission is so tiny I’ve never managed anything, ha ha. Congrats on your success with them. Maybe I do need to get back into Amazon one of these days.
