October Squidoo Payments

Just received one day ago the payments on Squidoo for the month of August. And to my pleasant surprise, the earnings are higher than ever.

The earnings are about $200 higher than that of previous month’s earnings and they surpassed $1,500 - from $,1277, which is not bad at all. Added to this the earnings from my own Amazon affiliate links on the Squidoo lenses, I’m pretty much were I used to be a year ago with the small Xfactor sites before they got hammered.

And the main difference? Those were spammy little generic sites (if you’ve ever  done or come across those sites with the green sidebar layout with 1-5 pages, you know what I mean), while at Squidoo I truly enjoy writing on all sorts of fun topics. By the time I’d get bored with one topic, I’m already onto another Squidoo lens on something completely different. Perfect for those people like me, who tend to get bored extremely fast. And let’s face it, some of the Squidoo lenses are so well made, so pretty and all, that they’re a feast for the eyes.

I only wish those few ‘Squidoo haters’ from the Warrior Forum would stop telling people what to do and what not to do, such as ‘don’t write for Squidoo, instead buy your own domains and write for yourself’, and let people who want to try something else do it without a guilty conscience - afteral ‘that’ advice is given by real internet marketing gurus and writer know-it-alls. Oh well.

All I can say for anyone that wants to start on this path or another - simply do it, and don’t let anyone talk you out of it. We all have to experience things for ourselves, and even if it doesn’t work, at least we tried. But what if it really works?

  1. Hey there,
This is amazing. I hear you. My niche site has been shaken by Penguin. I like Squidoo and I learn something just about every week there. How many lenses did you have before you started the experiment? Did you find it difficult to get one lens a day complete?

  2. I had less than 10 I think, and they were not that high quality lenses either. I scrapped some of them, reworked others and it seems they passed the Squidoo inspection as I’m Giant 100 squid right now. At first it was not the easiest to write good lenses, it took me some time, but the more I wrote, the easier and faster it became. Now I write a lens in the morning, then do the usual Squidoo community stuff (showcase the lens, visits others, participate in the forum, etc) and in the afternoon I’m usually free to do other things like build my authority site, etc.

  3. Congrats! I have finally started working on writing some lenses and I’m going to try and duplicate your experiment. Currently I have three lenses, however, I find that I am spending a lot of time reading other lenses and community stuff. It is so much fun!

  5. Great results. I’ve just started Squidoo and am really enjoying it. Been there just over a month and have 27 lenses up.

Would you mind explaining how you ’showcase the lens’?

  6. Judy I mean simply post the lens in the relevant places for others to see and come over to check it out.
