Squidoo does work!

Just woke up yesterday morning to a $53 into my Clickbank account. How did this happen and why am I so excited about it, I mean it’s not the first time I’m getting affiliate sales!

Back in November when I first started to get glimpses into the world of internet marketing, I bought PotPieGirl’s One Week Marketing which was perfect for me at that time, as I really had no idea where or how to start. It was too early for me to get my own domains, hosting, Wordpress install and all those techie things that come with a bit of experience, so Potpiegirl’s program was perfect to ease me into the whole thing.

I reviewed the program on my previous blog but briefly basically it gave me a step by step program that I could follow to create my first Squidoo lenses to promote an affiliate product, and how to market it properly on the internet.

I set up the lenses, it was surprisingly easy based on the program I was following, and each day I was doing a bit more, based on the plan. As I’ve just started to get visitors to my lenses, had I continued with the program, I would have seen soon profits, however I got bored and moved on to other things that glittered under the sun (same trap that most newbies fall into and then cry that they don’t make money, learned from personal experience!).

I haven’t touched those Squidoo lenses anymore and actually, forgot about them, truth be told. Until yesterday morning when I woke up to a $53 amount at Clickbank. There is a Clibkbank notifier on my taskbar on the pc that shows the latest amount that I got in my Clickbank account, so I quickly logged on to Clickbank to see where that money came from. Well it turned out to be from a higher end product that I advertised back in November through my Squidoo lenses made using Potpiegirl’s OWM program.

I didn’t market this lens, totallly forgot about it, and yet it brought me money out of the blue. Can you say I was excited? This just paid for my OWM program and more! I mean I don’t even have a website for that particular niche, it was all done through Squidoo. Talk about not paying anything additional from the actual OWM package. No domains, no hosting, no Wordpress tweaking, easy money!

I guess I’ll revisit Squidoo and the OWM program that I forgot I had on my computer, and give it another go, put up a few more lenses on that niche, it’s a real pitty I stopped workin on this side of marketing right after I started with it.

This just shows that you should not give up what you start originally, at least until you see success with it and can replicate it, or until a few months pass and really see that it doen’t take you anywhere. If this Squidoo lens brought me money without any advertising, how much would I have made until now with proper work on it?
