To new beginnings

I started originally blogging about my journey to become independent about 2 months ago at http://im-road-to-success.blogspot.com/.
All I knew at that time was that I wanted to break free from the 9-5 day job and be able to work from the comfort of my home, doing what I like to do most: working with the computer, on the internet. If I do this for fun, as hobby, can’t I learn something more to it and do it full-time?
So what have I been up to so far?
I’ve started learning as much as I could. I joined a few programs, some that I left behind, others following religiously, such as Amy Bass’ The Niche Blogger program, which teaches blogging for money.
I have to honestly say that this program was a milestone for me. I never worked before with Wordpress, I was a full Blogspot addict, until Amy taught me everything I know now about Niche blogging, working with Wordpress, tweaking it in a way that brings the most profit to a blog and the different ways that one can earn money with it. This is one program I’m not sorry to pay the membership for. It has so far paid for itself from the affiliate commisions I have earned since I started with my own niche blogs under Amy’s umbrella.
Another program I started, The Wealthy Affiliate, I had to leave it right after the first month. It just was not for me. I don’t say that it’s not a good program, I’m sure it is (particularly the forums), however I am a person who needs to follow a particular program, to have a guidance, a blueprint let’s say. The Wealthy Affiliate was too scattered for me. There were too many things that were taught there and nothing really indepth. The one month was good though to get a nice overview of what internet marketing is about and figure out which direction I wanted to go.
Currently I am also enrolled at the Warrior Forum in the Traffic Creation Lab, a 30 days program that teaches various ways to get traffic to my site. Which is something we all need to know, particularly us, the internet marketing newbies. I’ll post my review on this when the program is over.
I have created a couple of niche blogs, following Amy’s tutorials pretty much to the letter, already started to get a trickle of traffic, earned a bit of Adsense, sold here and there a few affiliate products, and now I’m looking into adding a subscriber’s list and making my own product, which is also something Amy is teaching. Now let’s see how the Traffic Creation Lab will help me drive even more traffic to my niche blogs.
So here I am right now, plowing ahead, step by step, one milestone after another. I started to get a bit of money, which is always reinvested in hosting, domains and other small things and I am having fun in the process. I think if you’re enjoying what you’re doing, then there is a chance at success. If you don’t, then better do something else.
