Amazonian Profit Plan Review And Case Study
By Marika on Jul 24, 2010 in Reviews
The Amazonian Profit Plan is great if you want to start earning money from Amazon, promoting actual physical products. Unlike Clickbank products, which is solely focused on ebooks, Amazon is maybe the other best option for making a nice online affiliate income month by month.
One of the reason why I actually wanted to test it is because I am working with Xfactor style micronich sites, which are very targeted and extremely keyword focused. And the keywords are all buying ones related to physical products which can be easily found at Amazon. So what best way to add some extra money to my income than increasing my Amazon earnings, which were quite sparse so far when focusing solely on the Xfactor method (which really focuses on Adsense).
So after getting the ebook, which is quite big and indepth at full 74 pages, I read it twice and then got working.
While I have several Xfactor style sites up on page one, and even in top positions, not each of them is making me money. After trying several things, I realized that some of these sites will never make money from Adsense besides a few dollars each month simply because the ads are not targeted enough. If somebody wants to buy a clothes dryer vent and you have vents of other types of machinery as ads, noone will click through. I actually considered some of these sites ‘duds’. So I’ve decided to pick one of them and see where the Amazonian profit plan ebook will take it.
But what exactly is the Amazonian profit plan? It is a step by step way that shows you how to write the perfect product review that not only gives click-throughs to Amazon but also really makes you sales. Each part is explained in details, and when all is said and done, the Appendix section of the book actually gives you a completed review of a product randomly selected from Amazon (you can actually find the product at Amazon, and see that it’s a legit review indeed). I’ve seen so far Amazon reviews and also courses on how to write reviews, but this one, in all honestly, takes the cake.
It walks you through how to find the perfect products to focus on, what are the best criteria on it, then how to make the proper keyword research to get the best results, and then it walks you through the actual review. The appendix section has the actual review put together along with a couple of checkmarks and sheets that you can easily use to complete the tasks.
So I took one of my sites, the main page really, transformed it into an Amazon review in the exact layout given by Amazonian profit plan, then social bookmarked my article and went to sleep. The next day I didn’t get any clicks, but that was undertandable, since I’m living in Europe, so the time difference was at fault. Then the sales were like this:
2nd day - 1 sales
3rd day - 1 sales
4th day - 1 sales
5-6 days nothing (later on I realized why)
7 day - 3 sales (different products though) going through that site. I know it’s through that site as I have a separate tracking id for the site that I’m not using anywhere else.
If you’re wondering why I only have 1 sale per day, the reason is because it is quite a small site with less than 2000 monthly searches. I only used this site for testing and well, worse case I wouldn’t lose much since it was a no earner for Adsense anyway.
And here is the kicker, I have the site up for 3 months now, with less than $3 Adsense earnings ever since it’s on page 1 and with 3 product sales from Amazon in 3 months. That’s an average of 1 sale per month. Since I changed the layout of the site and completely revamped the page to include the Amazonian style review, in 7 days I got 6 sales. Oh and the reason why 2 days I had no sales is because I had a very brief google dance (saw that with Market Samurai), whereby the site went down to position 5 from pos 1, however it recovered within 2 days.
While this site by no means will make me rich, it did prove to me that this is one system that works without failing. I have a few more ‘dud’ sites that don’t earn me from Adsense much, so I’ll work through them and change them to the Amazonian style and I’ll scrap the Adsense altogether.
Oh and if you ever find yourself in the dreaded position of being kicked out of the Adsense program for any reason whatsoever, and you’re sitting on a heap of sites which have very focused and targeted keywords for physical products, you’re back in business again in no time! Well, as long as you have good rankings in Google for the sites, of course.
So if you are on the fence, I promise you that if you follow the plan to the letter, you will make money from it as I did to. Just make sure to follow the review style the ladies give you (but don’t copy the wording though, as that’s lame), put up the review, get a few backlinks to the site using article marketing, or forum profiles or whatever you fancy and start earning from Amazon!
And one last point, since I bet I will get a few comments on this one: while Amazon has only 24 hour cookies to their site (so after 24 hours, if the person visits Amazon you will not get credit for it), Amazon is the largest online shopping site and people truly trust it. Selling and promoting ebooks is so 2008-2009, while it still works, people are no longer trusting those sales letter put up by clever internet marketeers. But real, physical products are thing we all need, no matter what. You might not be interested in buying the latest Acne ebook that treats you naturally but you’ll definitely need a crib for your new born baby or those power tools for your garage. And the good thing about Amazon, something that I LOVE seeing, is that when people are on the site, they usually remember that they need to buy this, and that, and oh that as well, and everything they buy during the day, goes under your affiliate
How cool is that!
And if you don’t fancy selling Amazon products, you can easily use the very same reviews with no changes whatsoever to any other affiliate site such as Commission Junction or Google Ad Network or anything else that deals with actual, physical products. It doesn’t HAVE to be Amazon.

Hi Joseph,
Actually quite well, I’m really happy with the Amazonian profit plan. One of the best ones around, to be honest.

Hi Marika,
Are you using Word Press or Xsite Pro for building your Amazon review sites?
Does the Ebook provide a template?
Thank you,

Yes, the ebook provides a template of a product that they make the review of, from start to finish. All you need is follow the same layout, for one of the products you want to review.
I’m using both at the moment, XSP and Wordpress. XSP more because most of my sites are done with it. But for the sake of the review, it truly doesn’t matter, you could just as well put up a simple html file with images and links in it, would work just the same.

Personally why do you favor Xsite Pro over WP?
I have XSP and am just starting to learn it.
Did XSP have much of a learning curve for you?
Thank you.
